about the owners
barbara and karin opened biscotti’s in 1993 as a 37-seat neighborhood coffee house and restaurant. it quickly became a landmark success. offering casual comfort, innovative cuisine and with a personality of it’s own, the avondale eatery has expanded to accommodate its city wide clientele.

karin and barbara’s second adventure was bb’s restaurant and bar located on hendrick’s avenue on the southbank, next to reddi arts, near downtown jacksonville. bb’s has quickly proven itself ‘the Groovy Place to b’ in san marco!

about our chef
originally from columbia, chef carlos ramirez attended johnson and whales university. while living in tallahassee he developed his skills in the hospitality business at the restaurant chez pierre. he later worked as sous chef for cypress restaurant which won ‘florida trend’ top new restaurants in 2003. ramirez relocated to jacksonville becoming the sous chef at bb’s where he is currently the much loved (and fun to work with!) executive chef.
